Event Guidelines for Site Organizers
(Important Notice: To uphold the international standard of ethics, the international organizers of this event strongly stipulate that there should be no involvement of milk companies and companies that produce or market related equipment like bottles, teats, pacifiers and other babyfood products. To qualify as a site, there should be no products of these companies during the event. This requirement is also stipulated by the Guinness World Record.)
This set of event guidelines was written to integrate the Guinness World Record Guidelines on Simultaneous Breastfeeding in Multiple Sites and the Guinness Record Breakers Pack.
Nurturers of the Earth broke the Guinness World Record for Simultaneous Breastfeeding in a Single Site with 3,541 mother-child pairs.
To be able to set new world record, countries should be able to significantly exceed this current Guinness World Record.
The same groups also created the first Guinness World Record for Simultaneous Breastfeeding in Multiple Sites 15,128 mother-child pairs in 295 sites.
To be able to set new world records, countries should be able to significantly exceed the current Guinness World Record with no less than 25 mother-child pairs in all the sites.

However, we would like to emphasize that advocates are doing this event not just to garner the Guinness World Record but to create opportunities to educate the public and the mothers on breastfeeding en masse.
Please adhere to the International Standard of Ethics that prohibits any sponsorship or participation of any company manufacturing milk products, babyfood, teats, bottles and pacifiers.

Pre-event Preparations:
1. If you are a private individual or an organization that wants to put up a site, please register your effort. Private or public hospitals, churches, restaurants or malls should also register their sites:

2. Mobilize at least 30 mothers to register for the event to qualify as a Guinness World Record site and inform them that:
Bottles, teats (rubber nipples), pacifiers and milk and babyfood products will NOT be allowed in the site. Explain to them that these products can disqualify the site in the Guinness Record and that these things are also bad for their children’s health.
3. Identify point persons for the following:
a. Local Event Organizer who will ensure that the event will run smoothly.
b. Monitors who will inspect the bags to ensure that there are NO bottles, teats, pacifiers and milk and babyfood products. The monitors will also ensure that all mothers have signed the registration forms and that witnesses have validated them.
c. Emcee of the Program who will be guided by the event script.
d. Documenter who will take pictures and/or video of the event especially the part of the simultaneous breastfeeding and ensure that there will be no bottles, teats (rubber nipples), pacifiers and milk and babyfood products in the pictures or video.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are planning to organize a group bigger than 100, we strongly suggest you to plan for emergency services like police assistance, stand-by ambulance, safe entrances and exits for all the participants. Government agencies that you can tap for this affair will be our new advocates.
4. Mobilize two independent witnesses (any government official, church official, police, any professional, as long as she/he does not belong or is a member of the local organizing group) to be in the site, write the EXACT number of participants who breastfed and sign the registration form.
5. If you have sponsors, please email to us the following: the name of the company, the nature of their business, contact person, the website and email address.
6. Serve mothers with indigenous foods like corn, bananas, root crops and local fruits in season. Please go to ______ to get recipes. To truly alleviate poverty, our people must learn to appreciate and sustain themselves with the cheapest and most nutritious foods, including breastmilk. As a part of the hunger mitigation campaign, we will educate them that these foods are cheap and yet they are the most nutrient-dense. Processed foods, junk foods or soft drinks can only lead to malnutrition and obesity. Please don’t allow them inside the site.
On the Day of the Global Synchronized Breastfeeding
1. To conform to the Guinness World Record requirements, ensure that there will be no formula milk, bottles, teats and pacifiers or any product of babyfood companies in the venue.
2. (OPTIONAL for other countries, REQUIRED for Philippine Sites and Countries that will try to break the Guinness Records)Open the bags of the mothers before they enter the venue and take out any bottles, teats, pacifiers and milk and babyfood products. Put it in a secure place outside the venue. Inform the mothers that these objects are bad for their babies’ health. There should be a Monitor/s who will be responsible for the inspection of the bags.
3. After the bags are inspected, the mothers should sign the registration form. Please follow the instructions on the form.
4. The emcee can use the event script in hosting the program.
5. Instruct the mothers to do the following:
6. Count the number of mothers who were able to breastfeed from 10:00 to 10:01 and write it in the registration form. Ask two independent witnesses (any government official, church official, police, professional as long as he is not from or is a member of the local organizing group) to sign the registration form and write the EXACT number of participants who breastfed. The documenter should take photos and/or video:
7. The registration form can only list 15 mothers in one page. If there are more than 15 mothers, please put all the filled-up registration forms from the same site and staple them together so they will not get lost.
8. After the attempt, the registration papers should be checked by the Monitors to ensure that:

IMMEDIATELY within 6 hours after the event, please report the following information:
Note: If the over-all number of mothers exceeded the existing Guinness Record of the Philippines, organizers will be notified BY EMAIL to send through registered mail the completed registration forms, CD of digital pictures, or DVD of videos or hard copy of pictures, newspaper articles about the event. Otherwise, please do not send anything by mail to us unless we notify you through email.

- Don’t allow babies and children to get hungry, if they show signs of hunger, they should be fed at anytime.
- Put the baby close to the breast at about 5 minutes before the actual simultaneous breastfeeding to stimulate/prepare the children.
- Instruct the mothers not to hold their babies’ head tightly so that the babies will not resist breastfeeding.
- Arrange for a Time Synchronization and National Countdown via a radio and/or television station. Listen to the countdown, and simultaneously breastfeed at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Look into their child’s eyes and say the world prayer softly while breastfeeding.
6. Count the number of mothers who were able to breastfeed from 10:00 to 10:01 and write it in the registration form. Ask two independent witnesses (any government official, church official, police, professional as long as he is not from or is a member of the local organizing group) to sign the registration form and write the EXACT number of participants who breastfed. The documenter should take photos and/or video:
