Support:

Provision of social and professional support for breastfeeding entails accurate and timely information, education and encouragement, enabling mothers to have the breastfeeding experience she and her child needs. Humane care during childbirth, advice, reassurance, affirmation, hands-on assistance, and practical tips will all boost the confidence of parents to nurture their children.

Aside from trainings and creating a breastfeeding-friendly environment, the PLRTC, under The Breastfeeding Clinic provides the following direct services to support breastfeeding families:

•Free Online Classes
•Childbirth and Parenting Class Packages
•Massage for Pregnant and Breastfeeding Mothers
•One-on-one counseling (Home or Hospital Visits)
•Corporate Lactation Support Program
•Inspirational Talks

Calendar of Activities

Promotion:

To promote breastfeeding and other optimal young child feeding practices, the PLRTC utilizes national and international coordinated events of tremendous impact that serve as major vehicles for its core messages. The events also educate the public en masse on the importance of breastfeeding and the social support needed to sustain it. Our major events and campaigns are:

 

 

 

Protection:

Protecting breastfeeding calls for all complementary foods to be marketed in ways that do not undermine exclusive and sustained breastfeeding beyond two years.  Our government being a signatory to the international agreement has its responsibilities in implementing the International Code and the Philippine laws that protect breastfeeding.
